Hundreds Gather in Prescott for PTCC Local Trading Card Show

On August 15, the Prescott High School Dome became something more than a venue full of trading cards.

It became a gathering place.

The PTCC Local Trading Card Show brought together 55+ vendor tables and hundreds of collectors, families, players, and community members for a full day centered around the trading card hobby.

From Pokémon and sports cards to Magic: The Gathering and other games, the Dome stayed busy throughout the day as attendees browsed vendor tables, traded cards, played games, met local businesses, and connected with other collectors.

But what stood out most was not simply the size of the event.

It was how people used the space.

Kids traded cards with each other. Families explored the hobby together. Players sat down for games and activities. Collectors who had previously only interacted online finally met face-to-face. Groups gathered in the bleachers to talk, trade, and spend time together instead of simply walking through and leaving.

That kind of connection is exactly why Good Game Family supports Prescott Trading Card Community.

Building Community Through Shared Interests

PTCC began as a local community built around trading cards, but events like this demonstrate what can happen when a shared hobby becomes a reason for people to gather.

Good Game Family supports PTCC as part of our broader work to create positive, accessible spaces where gaming and related interests can bring people together.

For some attendees, the August 15 show was about finding a card they had been searching for.

For others, it was about introducing their children to a hobby they grew up with.

For many, it was simply a place to spend a Saturday surrounded by people who shared an interest with them.

All of those experiences matter.

Strong communities are often built through simple opportunities to meet, participate, and feel like you belong.

A Community Effort

An event of this size does not happen because of one organization or one person.

Local vendors, volunteers, businesses, sponsors, community partners, Prescott High School, and attendees all played a role in bringing the show to life.

Partners supported activities, prizes, event infrastructure, apparel, awards, and other pieces of the experience. Volunteers helped keep operations moving throughout the day. Vendors traveled from across the region to participate, and families and collectors showed up in force to support the local hobby.

The response after the event has been equally meaningful.

Vendors and attendees have continued sharing photos, videos, messages, and feedback about their experiences, while many have already begun asking when the community will gather again.

More Than Cards

Trading cards may have been what brought everyone through the doors, but community was what filled the Dome.

For Good Game Family, that distinction matters.

Gaming, esports, collectibles, and other shared interests can become powerful tools for connection when people are given welcoming spaces to experience them together.

The August 15 PTCC Local Trading Card Show was one more example of what that can look like here in Northern Arizona.

To every volunteer, vendor, partner, family, collector, player, and community member who helped make the day possible, thank you.

Together We’re Legendary.
